A Mission Begins
Rick Novak and S. A. Carlsson joined forces to provide replacement homes for earthquake victims in Central America, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to resilient, community-focused construction.
1980s–1990s
Proving the Technology
Over 700 structures were built across the U.S. and overseas, including an 18-story Van de Graaff generator tower, employee housing in the Southwest, and homes in Guam that survived typhoons and earthquakes unscathed.
2000s–2010s
Adapting to New Challenges
As demand grew for energy-efficient, affordable housing, Rick Novak focused on evolving the system to address modern needs—from military housing overseas to low-income housing in the U.S. Their solution proved not only cost-effective but also energy-efficient, reducing energy usage by up to 90%.
